Preview window saves PDF instead of showing a PDF preview

This means there is a problem with the Adobe PDF Reader web preview add-on.

Make sure Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is installed. If not, download and install Adobe Acrobat Reader DC.

  1. Open Internet Explorer.
  2. In the menu go to Tools and open Manage add-ons.
  3. Show All add-ons
  4. Browse to Adobe Systems, Incorporated.
  5. Check if Adobe PDF Reader is Enabled, if not, enable it.

Note:

If Adobe PDF Reader is not shown under All add-ons, try to select Run without permissions.

Unexpected behavior of the plug-in:

  1. Set Adobe PDF Reader to Disable.
  2. Close Internet Explorer.
  3. Re-open Internet Explorer.
  4. Go to Manage add-ons.
  5. Enable Adobe PDF Reader.

Note:

Adobe Acrobat Reader DC is required. SMARTdoc Preview will not work with Adobe Reader X or lower, unless you have an outdated Internet Explorer browser. A newer Adobe plugin is required to function properly with the latest Internet Explorer browser.
